How to manage Unknown or Mystery Deposit payments (v10.0.77 onwards)

Requirements: Storman v10.0.77


This article explains how to manage unknown payments / mystery deposit that you receive and have not been able to identify the customer the payment belongs to.

A prerequisite for this to work correctly is to set-up an "Unknown / Mystery deposit account" in Storman.   Please follow this article to do this.

Recording an unknown payment in Storman

Follow the below steps to record of a payment, when you do not know who it is for.


1. Navigate to your other credit sales, from the Customers menu > Find Other Credit Sales



2. Open the Credit Sale account you have nominated as being for unallocated payments



3. Click "Add Receipt" and enter the information of the Receipt. Analysis Code, Transaction Date, Date Banked and Amount.



4. Click Ok to save.


Moving a payment from your unallocated payment account to the correct storer

Once you have identified who the payment is from, follow the below steps to move the payment from your unallocated payment account (created above) to the correct storer.


1. Navigate to your other credit sales, from the Customers menu > Find Other Credit Sales



2. Open the Credit Sale account you have nominated as being for unallocated payments



3. Highlight the receipt that you would like to move, and click "Modify Receipt."



4. Click on the "Move Receipt" button, in the bottom left of the screen.



5. In the box provided, enter the agreement or reservation number of the storer you would like to move this payment to. In this example we are moving this to Peta Smar (000000019).



6. Confirm you would like to move the payment and click "Yes".



7. Storman has now moved the payment to the new storer, and created a reversal transaction to balance out the unallocated payment account.





8. Checking the correct storer, Peta Smart (000000019) will now show the payment has been moved to their agreement.
